Fabric Spreader – 2nd Shift
We are seeking two Fabric Spreaders to join us full-time, Monday - Thursday from 1:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Keeping quality in mind, the spreaders will work harmoniously as part of a two-person team preparing fabric to be cut according to the production schedule.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. • Spread layers of cloth on table to prepare fabric for automated cutting machine • Work as a member of a two-person team • Mounts roll of cloth in rack at end of table • Unreel successive lengths of cloth onto table, spreading each length evenly on length beneath. • Inspect material for spreading quality and correct ply count. • May cut out parts using scissors • Report any defective and/or substandard material fabric material to lead • May also measure specified length of material to be cut according to production order or verbal instructions. • Successfully work as member of two-person team • Cut denims as needed
• High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent • 2-3 years’ consistent work experience • Excellent verbal communication skills • Must be able to work harmoniously with team • Experience working in an upholstery manufacturing environment is a plus • Experience spreading and/or cutting fabric is preferred
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is exposed to moving parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The facility is temperature controlled, organized and clean.

To perform this role successfully requires the ability to stand consistently for an 8-hour shift. Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. Perform physical activity that requires considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position. The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. The ability to squeeze and hold scissors. The ability to lift objects weighing 15 – 50 lbs.
