Leather Hand Cutter

• Use manual scissors or powered cutting tools to cut leather. • Will assist with cutting fabric as needed. • Mark or discard items with defects such as spots, stains, scars, snags, chips, scratches, or unacceptable shapes or finishes. • Trim excess material or cut threads off finished products. • Mark cutting lines around patterns or templates, or follow layout points, using squares, rules, and straightedges, and chalk, pencils, or scribes. • Unroll, lay out, attach, or mount materials or items on cutting tables or machines.
• Previous hand cutting experience required in leather is required. 5 years’ minimum experience. • Read, learn and follow training, adhere precisely to written procedures • Problem solving skills • Must be able to follow detailed instruction, inspection procedures and product appearance • Work quickly on your own or in a team • Must be able to stand on your feet for 8-9 hours.

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is moderate. The facility is temperature controlled, safe, and clean.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. To perform this role successfully requires the ability to stand consistently for an 8-hour shift, sitting is occasional. To maneuver fabric material and cut material, the associate will need the use of arms, hands, fingers and elbows and have the ability to twist at the waist frequently turning and reaching. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Walking is required.
