Material Handler – Staging

Maintains inventory of product needed to supply frame and upholstery departments with material. Responsible for making available all items efficiently and according to production schedule.
• Read/understand and follow production schedule to support production flow and order completion • Put away materials as they are received to maintain order and maintain inventory • Assist with flow of completed frames to staging area • Coordinate materials to support upholstery functions • Gather poly, foam, and sewn covers to add to frame, preparing kit for upholstery department
• Excellent interpersonal skills as the role requires working with multiple people in different roles • 2-5 years’ experience in upholstery manufacturing staging area preferred • Previous experience with manufacturing production system • Good math skills • Highly organized, detail oriented, motivated, a fast learner, a team player • Ability to lift, push, pull, move with or without hand truck up to 75lbs – 100lbs. as needed with or without accommodation • Previous experience working independently with minimal oversight • Excellent oral and written skills • Proactive, intuitive, and resourceful • Outstanding time-management abilities • Experience operating a forklift or other machinery. If no experience, willingness to be trained.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The facility is temperature controlled, organized and clean.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. To perform this role successfully requires the ability to stand consistently for an 8-9hour shift, sitting is occasional. The Lead will need the use of arms, hands, fingers and elbows and have the ability to twist at the waist frequently turning and reaching. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 75-100 pounds. Extensive walking is required when receiving, picking and inventorying fabric rolls. Constantly manipulate materials/frames while using arms, hands, and legs; from a standing position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus to identify potential material flaws.
