Material Handler – Wrap/Ship

Position Summary

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Working with a team, the material handler will prepare upholstered furniture for shipping and distribution.

Essential Functions

• Inspects products prior to packing to ensure quality is in line with Design Foundry standards verifying no cosmetic damage has occurred • Wraps product in protective material, builds boxes, and loads product in box using conveyor system • Rolls wrapped product and stages to prepare for shipping • Loads product onto truck

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent • Works successfully with a team • Works efficiently in a fast-paced environment • Excellent attendance

Other Duties

As part of the Design Foundry team, all associates should have a willing attitude to assist in other areas as needed.

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud. The facility is temperature controlled, safe, and clean.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. To perform this role successfully requires the ability to stand consistently for an 8-hour shift, sitting is occasional. To receive and maneuver furniture, the material handler will need the use of arms, hands, fingers and elbows and have the ability to twist at the waist frequently turning and reaching. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with a team. Extensive walking is required. Constantly manipulate boxes and protective coverings while using arms, hands, and legs; from a standing position.
