QA Tech – Upholstery/Final Inspection

Position Summary

Inspector will work primarily on the upholstery floor, inspecting after Inside Upholstery, but will also assist with Final Inspection as needed. This position requires close attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

• Inspects furniture for defects in finish, construction, or upholstery to ensure conformance with Design Foundry quality standards: Verifies upholstery production ticket. • Inspects upholstery for rips in fabric or seams. • Feels upholstery padding for consistent padding application. • Marks defects properly for repair and communicates to Upholstery Tech. • May make minor adjustments i.e. remove occasional exposed staple, regulate fill, steam wrinkles etc. if needed.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent • Works successfully with a team • Works efficiently in a fast-paced environment • High attention to detail • Excellent attendance • 2-3 years’ inspection experience in an upholstery manufacturing environment preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment is clean, organized, and temperature controlled. Safety glasses are required.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. To perform this role successfully requires the ability to stand consistently for an 8-hour shift. Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. Perform physical activity that requires considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of furniture pieces (chairs, sofas, ottomans etc.). The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position. The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. The ability to squeeze and hold air hose. The ability to flip, push, maneuver objects weighing 25 – 75 lbs.
